The Lizard King explored the dark and seedy side in a way only angst-ridden, drug-addled, Caucasian suburbanites can. From start to finish, this is my favorite Doors LP. They were not yet at the peak of their musical power, but what they lacked in polish, they made up for in youthful exuberance and imagination. This album plays in darkness and mystery, making magic in the process. -- wrx20l
