I love Bon Iver but that venue sucked big time. Steve is not exaggerating when he says 110 degrees with 99% humidity. People were just miserable, sweaty and restless. Outside of Wolves (crowd singalongs are always fun), it wasn't much of a show because the douchebags next to me talked throughout re:stacks and the drunk girl behind me couldn't shut up during For Emma.
Need to have them come back and play a venue that isn't meant for Sunday school ping pong tournaments. Someone needs to give that church some money so they can get some air conditioners. That was ridiculous.
So I went to see Bon Iver last night (7/31/08) in Philly. The show started awfully late. The line outside was ridiculous and we weren't let in until 8:45 (show was supposed to start at 8:30). The First Unitarian Church basement was probably 110 degrees with 99% humidity. I doubt I'd go back to see a reunited Paul, John, George & Ringo there based on the experience. Bon Iver only played his 9 songs he has. But in summation - it was still magical. He's even better in person than in the studio. Terrific time and got to say hey to Vin again.
