Yea, this is my top 10 of the 80's list.

I need to get back to my all-time list, but do not have time now. Phish and Fishbone are two of my favorites of all-time so you picked well. I know we share a love for The Pixies and Zappa, but you reminded me of the Residents, Butthole Surfers (which was one of the best concerts I have ever seen) and Mingus. I love jazz, but have not explored Mingus enough.

Definitely a product of the 80s. You must have changed your original list looking over some of the earlier comments. I hadn't thought of my favorite phish album (lawn boy from '89) or fishbone (fishbone from '85) albums in a long time. Worth tracking those down again - thanks for the unintended prod.

I have that More Soundtrack too. I think people forget that Pink Floyd made great music before Dark Side of the Moon. I used to love the Wall but now i realize it's a bloated self indulgent mess with a few great songs.

Solid list. Kicking myself for not going long on SRV. Also, it's amazing that we've gotten to the point that Phish is actually underrated.

Obscured by Clouds is quite good, I agree. I also like the More soundtrack which was done by Floyd.

Yes! Meddle is so vastly underrated in the pink floyd discography it isn't even funny. Go back a little bit and listen to Obscured By Clouds. That is prob my 3rd favorite pf album.

I agree! I mean, their new one was #2 on my top 10 list for 2007 and is very good. They have been so consistently solid it is scary.

I agree Hold you Fire was a new phase and then Roll the Bones a 3rd phase.

I've always thought that Fly By Night was one of their best early work. I believe it's only album #2 for them.

I always thought Hold Your Fire was the start of a new phase of Rush. I wore out my cassette of that album.

Also, don't overlook Power Windows and Grace Under Pressure.

Signals is just sweet...between that, Hold Your Fire, 2112, Moving Pictures and Permanent Waves my head explodes. Rush is so good.

Signals is a solid pick. It was the album that got me into Rush in the first place.

Subdivisions and Analog Kid was the soundtrack to my jr high life. I think i'll put that album on now.
