Welcome melty. Another Radiohead fanatic, eh? :) I agree with you on Phish; betty and I have had this debate before. :) Hoist is an under-rated album in my view and Lawn Boy, Junta, Ghost, Billy Breathes and Rift could be on top lists depending as always on the parameters of said list. Of course they are a live juggernaut, but their studio albums are bashed way over the top IMO. Catch a Fire ismy favorite Marley, Ziggy my favorite Bowie and Born to Run my favorite Boss. Nice taste. Animals and Abbey Road are epics, but I run toward earlier albums of those legendary bands. I agree these lists are very difficult, but you can change it any time!
the problem (if you wanna call it that) with a list of 10 albums of all time..is
A) its impossible to narrow it down B) i just had to choose one album to represent a band . i could easily have 5 each of marley, floyd, beatles, radiohead, PJ, Waits albums on here depending on my mood. C) i am very hesitant to put anything under 10 years old on here, because part of being a "classic" is holding up over time.
i guess that kinda the point of the site though. i agonized over this and wasted half my morning, and im sure it will change frequently.. so there you go.
i had to represent the boys from burlington somewhere since i spent the better part of my youth seeing them live. it was either hoist or story of the ghost. maybe i should put one of the official live releases up here instead.
i do however, think their studio work gets a bad rap. if you cant get up and get down to julius or wolfmans brother off of hoist or ghost off of SOTG., then i pity the fool.
welcome, melty. i was going to give your list 5 stars until i saw Hoist. i'm as big a Phish fan as anyone, but even I realize they didn't make any studio album worthy of even top 50 albums of all time.
also, there are repeats of albums, you should change your Ziggy Stardust to match mine so that it ranks higher on the combined list.
