missouri_cheeks's Favorite 10 Albums of All Time
1.
The Beatles
Actually Side 2 of this LP is my favorite album of all time. Were there ever 4 people in the history of the world who were supposed to meet more than John, Paul, George & Ringo?
2.
The Rolling Stones
This record makes me want to have everything recorded by The Rolling Stones (up until 1981).
Overall Rank: 26
3.
Johnny Cash
Tough record. Only artist in both the Rock & Roll and Country Music Hall of Fames.
Overall Rank: 209

4.
Wilco
The only Wilco record featuring Tweedy on lead guitar. That gets bonus credit from me.
Overall Rank: 258
This album only appears on this list
5.
Guided by Voices
I first heard this record in college and it gave me a life long appreciation for the 1:30 song.
Overall Rank: 101

6.
Pavement
Words associated with this record: clutter, unpredictability, spontaneity.
Overall Rank: 101
Also appears on
7.
Guns N' Roses
I've read stories about A&R people from different record labels in LA doing anything to sign GN'R back before this record came out...money, gifts, whatever. Axl apparently told one female rep to walk down Sunset Strip naked if she wanted to sign them and she did. This debut record screams confidence.
8.
The Staple Singers
The best family band of all time. With apologies to The Jackson 5, Allman Bros, Van Halen, AC/DC, The Bee Gees, etc..
Overall Rank: 481
This album only appears on this list
9.
The Who
I feel maximum effort was put into each individual track. Making for a great collection.
Overall Rank: 31
10.
James Brown
Pure, uncut soul. Brown's stage act has been copied for 50 years now.
Overall Rank: 590
This album only appears on this list

A little surprised to see A Ghost is Born as the Wilco selection for best of all time. But happy to see Wilco made your list Cheeks.
