If it makes things any better, I finally gave TV on the Radio a couple of listens, and had I heard any of their stuff in 2006, it would have made this list. I've probably listened to A Method 15 times since Friday. That said, I have to stick by the list above, despite the penalties paid. :)
Yeah, no single is working for me. Nothing on the album really is. There were a couple tracks (maybe 2 and 3) that made for good listens but beyond that, shite.
A definite -1 for The Black Parade. There should be a guilty pleasure list on this site so everyone can share their shame.
C'mon man, give a brother a break! I KNOW My Chemical Romance is disposable tripe. Believe me, I wanted to hate that album, I really did, but I'm not going to lie, it became something of a guilty pleasure. Try not to judge too harshly...I have pretty eclectic tastes and some of that encompasses material from the shallow end.
Picaresque was a breath of fresh air. I still listen to that much more often than Crane Wife, but they are both great material.
I know it probably undermines any fragment of credibility I may have had, but I was listening to Black Parade today and it dawned on me that this was a 2006 release. I'm not ashamed to admit that I listened the hell out of this album in 2006 and had to bump Gnarls to #11. :)
Only snippets, but the first single is most definitely not clicking with me. Need to download it and see what it's about. I first heard Art on my way to pick up a girl I was dating. She lived about 45 minutes away, and I probably played through the album 3 times during the drive over and back!
Nice hit on Art Brut. It took a while for that one to grow on me.
St. Elsewhere raised my expectations of Gnarls so high that their sophomore effort just isn't doing it for me. Have you had a listen to the Odd Couple yet?
