i love amy. i do. i really really do. i mean, who else can say no to re-hab, and smoke crack on You-Tube? i love that she's just doin' whatever she wants.........that, and she's got that amazing voice. sweetness.
have to agree with you here about Portishead's "Third". so sad. i've been listening to their first two albums ever since - to remind me why they're so brilliant. what is this new crap??
I came to a conclusion, Portishead's Third is their worst album. It took me a while to decide, I just can't get into it. Just so far off from old Portishead, I can understand evolving but not changing your whole style. Just sounds like noise with a beautiful voice in the background. Trash i say, trash. And Amy Winehouse does suck, sorry Mike she does.
first - amy's got that voice. second - she's got a style about her (whether you like it or not, it's true) and it works for her. third - the drug and crazy-british-bitch thing?? that's partly what i love about her. she's just some crazy broad, all hopped up and crazed out - and i love it. love that woman and her crack-smoking self :)
I have to agree with the Amy Winehouse selection. I generally bite my tongue about her being that so many people like her and my opinion seems to be in the minority. I never liked her. I can't explain it, but I don't understand the mass appeal.
i love this list and have most of what you've got here, but now i'm going to go get what i don't have because I trust your opinion. ( : I need to get Yaov and Halou - not really familiar. Also, I haven't listened to Damien Rice in a long time, but I love him. I'm going to have a little reunion with him now that you've reminded me.
