1.
Best album ever. High point of Dylan's career. Song after song is pure perfection. Worst song on record is the first song, which was actually a "hit".
2.
His follow-up to 75's Born to Run. Hard edge sound which focuses more on guitars and drums than sax and piano. So many classic "E-Street" songs.
3.
Sinatra's emotional best. His so-called "comeback" album recorded immediately after his break-up with Ava Gardner. Contains one of his all time greatest ballads, "I Get Along Without You Very Well".
4.
Dead's folky best. Not as poppy or catchy as American Beauty but more roots driven. Stoner-folk would be a good descriptor. Jerry dominates.
5.
What hasn't been said about Dylan's 1975 masterpiece? Classic break-up album. Tangled Up In Blue, Shelter from the Storm, Simple Twist of Fate....hell, just go listen to it.
6.
Springsteen's most jazz infused album. Side 2 of this record is musical perfection. You dont think so? Incident on 57th Street into Rosalita into New York City Serenade is magical.
7.
A masterwork. Simon went to South Africa during apartheid and created a simply stunning piece of art. Contains the best of his pop songwriting and African rhythms.
8.
Another "comeback" album. Coming 22 years after Blood on the Tracks, Dylan's career once again resurges with this one. Haunting, sparse tracks fill out another record of the greatest songwriter's best.
9.
Quintessential Americana. And most of the guys in The Band are Canadian, go figure. The Weight is one of those songs you've heard forever and know but could never figure out who sung it. Great musicianship and vocals from a number of the guys.
10.
A skipped over masterpiece. In between his first number 1 album "The River" and monster smash "Born in the USA", Springsteen released this collection of songs that was really just a demo for his next E-Street Band record. A must listen.
