Did you see Boing Boing is linking to clips from an alleged Jimi Hendrix sex tape? As someone who has a copy of nearly everything the man ever recorded, it's with some regret I am going to have to pass on this one. lol
It doesn't have anything to do with where I am. There's not even a scene. Let alone an indie scene :) It's a pretty big mix of things. I listen to a lot of indie music podcasts, XM Radio, hit music blogs and web mags and frequently hit a local indie music store. If all of that fails, I have friends doing the same thing and they introduce me to a lot of good stuff too. If you were around more often, I might share stuff with you ya nerd :)
Alright, so I missed the boat in an epic fashion with TV on the Radio, but with school and all the other BS going down the past 18 months, I feel like I should get a pass. My question is, how the hell are you hearing about these bands? Is the indie scene that strong at ND or is there an internet resource I should be tracking? I used to check Pitchfork occasionally and have plucked quite a few bands from their "best new music" postings, but most of what I have found there came to my attention long after the initial release. Should I just subscribe to their RSS feed and leave it at that?
