okay - 1. love 'Bat for Lashes' (i just naturally assume that most people won't know of or like the music i listen to - but you know the old addage: "to assume is to make an ass out of u & me") 2. had to finally add Bon Iver - tried for a bit not to add, for fear that everyone would think i'm a lemming, but fuck it. love this album. 3. listen to the song "Louie, Louie" from the Bobby soundtrack. Fuckin' fabulous.

Part of the charm in those black cab sessions is that they are in London. The swing out shots of London streets is what makes it really cool. Plus they have cabs that are big enough.

Maybe you can rent one of those creepy conversion vans and lure Ryan Adams into one...

i have not seen this, but it's brilliant. are you saying i should film bands in the back of cabs...and post them on f10? interesting indeed. i would do it in NYC or SF.

have camera, will travel.

And to your earlier comment, no we do not have enough gloomy grey days here in LA. It's depressing. I don't belong here.

Bon Iver is amazing. I've gotten more enjoyment out of For Emma than Ryan's last two albums combined. And I very much liked Easy Tiger. 29 was a little blah for me. More of the same. Ryan needs to put out a Gold/Cold Roses type album again.

Maybe you don't have enough grey days in Southern California for Bon Iver.

he's been busy making metal. genius cannot be rushed. i might check out this langhorne person, but not because i need a replacement for ryan.
and to your bottle-of-jack comment: i think ryan has put out some solid material, as well as performances, sober. i like him with a clear head and heart.
btw, i'm warming up to bon iver. but i won't put it in my list, because he's on everyone else's....not sure if he ranks as a favorite for me anyway.

You might want to check out Langhorne Slim's new album. I know this isn't a glowing endorsement but he's like Ryan Adams with half the talent. So you can get your RA-lite fix while waiting to Ryan to get off his ass and release another album already. It's been almost a year... someone give him a bottle of jack already.

cleared my whiteboard and loving the discovery that no one else has my current albums in their list. i guess i've found my way back to the real stuff. just so bored with the it's-so-indie-it's-trendy crap. yawn.
