Yo Vinnie Que pasa? Definitely interested in checking out the new decemberists if youve got it. any chance of grabbing the new Black Lips as well? Thanks man. pH
Thanks, Vin. Let Me Come Over is still my favorite Buffalo Tom CD but BRLD runs a close second. Smitten is a pretty great disc with Scottish Windows being one of my all-time favorite tracks of theirs.
I was also bummed that we didn't get a tour when they released their last disc back in '07. The good news is that their offical site says that they're writing and rehearsing some new songs at the moment so maybe we'll get a new disc and tour before the year is done.
vin, i made it back. i put up an 08 list, but your site has my favorite record, Ruby Suns - Sea Lion, as the wrong release year, 07. it was released in the states in march, 2008.
Do you like acid tongue? -------------------------------------------
Yeah I like a lot of Rilo Kiley and I like Acid Tongue, though not as much as Rabbit Fur Coat. Granted she was just a contributor and not as instrumental to the song, but Postal Service's "... Silhouettes" is all-timer for me. That's why I was eagerly anticipating Under the Blacklight. But that album is, no offense, terrible, IMO. A complete and utter attempt at selling out IMO. I was sincere that I am glad some folks find redeeming qualities in it, but I just can't. It was a huge let down and #40 of the 41 albums released in 2007 that I own. But hey, that's what makes music great: different folks here different things in different music.
okay, it warms the cockles that you and michael are friends. i have the greatest tribe. i am putting my lists together now...i've been on a sabbatical.
I didn't even realize they had a new album out. Thanks for the heads up although allmusic only gave it 2 1/2 stars. I'll definitely go check it out though.
This is a public message for all the world to see how G you are. Tell me if you want the private message email to be different. If not, then that's cool since it will make my life easier.
i smoke too much pot to stay angry. plus, the radiohead and black mountain performances were both incredible. that's the last large festival i go to, though. i'm over that shit. i'll stick to the little festivals and single shows.
you know, i have a kind of ... psychic connection with "atomic Bomb".... also my favorite U2 album tends to be the most recent album until the new one comes out. i'm thinking of switching out Prince this morning. that's going to be the 'trouble' with this site. I'm going to change my mind every freakin' day. :)
Soon, soon - just went to Hawaii, then I had to do my homework, then my dog ate that homework so I killed my dog. Then I had to do my homework again, then I had to get a new dog, etc....I will put together a list!
I haven't, although I've heard the majority of the songs. Supernatural Superserious is definitely catchy, but I still cannot get over the idiocy of the first line "everybody here comes from somewhere." I miss the days when Michael Stipe was insightful. Living Well is the Best Revenge combined the musical progression of LRP, the power of Monster, and the lyrics of Reveal. Those three albums should never be mentioned in the same sentence. Man-Sized Wreath is dumb. Hollow Man is odd, but I owe it a few more listens before I form an opinion. Until the Day Is Done is easily the best song I've heard on the album. It reminds me a lot of Fables, which is a very good thing. I'm Gonna DJ is awful. So I still need to hear the other five songs, but once I do I shall impart my opinion of them onto you. I pray that they are better than the ones I've already heard.
